I was so excited to finally see this cabin up close.
It wasn’t until I made my way up the jet bridge that I was truly convinced that I was finally going to try this airline’s newest Business Class product for myself! Leaving passengers stranded, fighting protracted court battles, etc. Luckily I overheard a family discussing this very process next to me, otherwise I probably would have been one of the passengers sent back for a second round of queueing.Īs soon as my boarding pass was scanned, everything changed: SWISS has a poor reputation when it comes to honouring cheap airfares. I saw plenty of people wait in line, get all the way to the boarding pass scan and then be sent back to the separate queue for these kiosks. This was not effectively communicated at all and premium lines were not enforced. This was to be done separately and in addition to the normal boarding process. It transpires that it was beholden on every passenger to visit these kiosks, have their visa documentation verified and then receive a stamp on their boarding pass. There were a couple of kiosks set up within the gate area. The boarding process for SWISS can best be described in one word: chaotic.
